UrinaScript

UrinaScript provides natural support for optimum urinary tract health and may act as a natural diuretic.

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) typically occur more often in women, but due to prostate problems, are also experienced by men and are a common ailment among the elderly as well. The onset of these infections is often sudden and associated with unpleasant symptoms that can cause significant distress.

Many individuals seek antibiotic alternatives, especially with recurrent infections, antibiotic resistance and needing an alternative supportive and preventative approach. Mild and uncomplicated UTIs can often be resolved without the use of antibiotics, but a natural supportive approach can assist in hastening the complete recovery.

UrinaScript fulfills all of these supportive and preventative properties with a comprehensive herbal formula, that has been designed to be used daily if needed, without concern of adverse effects.

Indications:

  • Supports healthy bladder function.
  • Assists in the management of both acute and chronic urinary tract infections.
  • Reduces urinary discomfort.
  • To lessen antibiotic dependence in chronic bladder infections.
  • May assist in candida management.
  • Natural diuretic.

Unique management and prevention
No comprehensive bladder formula would be complete without Cranberry which has been used for centuries as a popular folk remedy for urinary health.

Cranberry is metabolised in the liver to release the proanthocyanidins, which are the active metabolites. Cranberry helps to prevent and control urinary tract infections due to its hippuric acid and proanthocyanidin content. Hippuric acid acidifies the urine and inhibits bacterial growth. The proanthocyanidins in cranberry prevent bacteria from attaching to the bladder lining, causing the unattached bacteria to be flushed out with the urine before it can multiply and cause an infection.

Bearberry, warburgia and barberry in this formula serve to potentiate the positive effects of cranberry.

Uva-ursi, also commonly known as bearberry, is a small evergreen creeping shrub. It contains arbutin which hydrolyses in the body to form hydroquinone, a compound which inhibits the growth of detrimental bacteria often responsible for causing urinary tract infections. Uva-ursi also prevents and suppresses inflammation due to its arbutin content.

Warburgia (Warburgia salutaris) appears to have antimicrobial activity. It contains compounds called drimane sesquiterpenes which give it this antimicrobial activity. The main metabolite of warburgia ismannitol. Mannitol prevents bacteria from adhering to the urinary tract epithelial cell membranes and thus they get excreted, lowering the bacterial count.

Barberry contains berberine which is primarily responsible for its medicinal properties. Berberine has antimicrobial effects including antibacterial and antifungal, making it an important component for any comprehensive bladder support formula where fungal infections are often associated with the recurrent bladder infections.

Buchu, one of South Africa’s best known medicinal plants, completes this formula. It has been used for centuries to treat a wide range of ailments and is included for its antimicrobial and diuretic effect in assisting with the inflammation of the urinary tract due to infections.

The carefully selected herbs in this unique formula decrease inflammation and soothe the urinary tract while inhibiting the growth and adherence of detrimental bacteria often responsible for causing urinary tract infections. UrinaScript also acts as a diuretic, flushing out detrimental microorganisms and additionally has a strong antifungal action, especially against Candida albicans.

UrinaScript is well suited for not only prevention, but also management of, acute or chronic urinary tract infections and provides a valuable natural alternative to antibiotic therapy.
